No one said that the Peace Corps was going to be easy - the first casualty of my service is the loss of my rain-catching-device that I kept on my head.
I lost a good 3 + inches of hair, which I believe accounts for about 75% of my physical strength. I'd better start working out again!
Just for fun (and since I am experimenting with uploading pictures), here is a picture of a jungle creature I found in my house today:
I hope to get one more update out before I depart on the 14th. Until then, moosebird away!
Nooo not the fro!
ReplyDeleteLooking good. Going to find the Benin version of Steffi Graf.
ReplyDeleteYou know Matt, I never thought you looked like Nate until I saw this second photo. Should've shaved it all off!
ReplyDeleteI should not have looked at this post so early in the day. I can no longer think rationally, everything i know is wrong.
ReplyDeleteHey Matt! Long time! All the best in your travels to West Africa. It will be great. Just have an open mind and a loving heart. And watch your back. :) Seriously, I am really excited for you. Do you speak French? I do if you want to chat at all.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I have never been to West AFrica but I am going in August for work for three weeks. So, if you can come to Accra Ghana or Dhakar Senegal then, i can say what up and introduce you to my boss who did Peace Corps in Togo for 2 years and then was a trainer for a year in Niger!
Anyway. Bon Chance, Bon Voyage, et Dieu avec toi! A vos souihait (spelling on that one is def wrong).
Love,
Vero
